A portion of each concert's concerts will also be donated to AKC (American Kennel Club) in their efforts to educate PETA and other activist groups who are trying to make Brachycephalic Breeds (Pugs, Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, Pekingese, Cavalier Spaniels, and more) illegal. These are ancient breeds and the government officials proposing these laws need to be educated. This costs money and AKC needs support for their team who is out there helping to fight, not just for Purebred dogs, but also for anyone owning a pet. (Yes, if you look at Peta's goals, they do not believe in domesticated animals at all.)
"PETA's Stance:
As to Activists' attacks on brachy breeds. It is important to note that ANY dog breed can deal with elongated soft palates and BOAS breathing issues .... NOT just "brachy breeds" and pugs. Even German Shepherds can deal with palate issues! Adding a "snout" or longer muzzle/nose will NOT help improve breeding. (Click to read more.) More health testing and higher standards of breeders is the only solution. Yes, ban Backyard Breeders who do not complete ALL recommended health testing. That is why the Pugiano's perform concerts to raise money for health research. Health testing is expensive, but a necessary component to preserving the Pug Breed from the times of Confucius to the 21st Century. These 11 week old puppies had to get in on the Pugiano act! Emma and Eliza love their spinning wheel! And their human mama loves Blood, Sweat, and Tears ;) A more extended version of this piece is in one of the upcoming Pugiano acts. Perhaps we're onto something here ..... Pugatonic? lolz Lilly's final litter of puppies was the Jane Austen litter and her 5 beautiful puppies painted a gorgeous wrapped painting entitled "Dawn" inspired by the music from Pride and Prejudice. Lilly joined in on the painting as well. They each then got to paint their own painting, inspired by an original composition written just for them by their 1st human mama/breeder, (except Georgiana's was the beautiful piece entitled "Georgiana" from Pride and Prejudice). These paintings were tucked inside their go-home puppy bags sent home with their new families of their forever homes. We recently had to say goodbye to our beautiful and talented Pugcasso and Pugiano superstar, Marie Claire. Pickwick's Cotton Candy in the Sky is blessing folks in heaven now but we will never forget how she made us smile and love during her short 2.5 years on this earth before leukemia took her life. Her novice tricks routine was a Pirate Act and she could identify any pirate object easily (compass? map? jewels?) She also had rally obedience titles and we will always remember her with her beautiful paintings she created, too. This piece is titled Sunshine Smile ... and tries to capture her beauty and the love she gave us for 2.5 years. Meet one of the Pugianos, Robert (aka Grand Champion Hill Country's I'll Bee Your Shining Star). Checkout his tricks video to see if he's wearing anything under his kilt! |
