"Multum in parvo”, (Latin meaning "lots in a little" or "good things come in small packages"), is often used to describe a pug. Some people describe a pug as a "big dog , or a lot of dog, in a small body. and it's true! Pugs have an extraordinarily multifaceted character. "Pug" comes from the Latin "pugnus", which means "fist" (like the shape of their heads). The Dutch, Germans, Belgians, Swedes call them "Mops" which comes from the Dutch "moppern", which means "to whine". Pugs do like to talk and they each have their own unique snuffles, snorts, and sounds. Some pugs even sing, and lots snore ;)
