Encore East Coast Tour: September 28-October 8, 2026!!
PUGIANOS LIVE IS HITTING THE ROAD!
At the end of September, the Pugianos will be traveling up and down the East Coast for a very special "Encore Tour" .... so named because it begins with something very close to our hearts. One last Encore for 2 very special pugs, and original Pugiano performers. Our first destination is Dog Mountain and the Dog Chapel in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, a place created by artist Stephen Huneck as a celebration of the extraordinary bond between people and their dogs. People travel there from around the world to remember dogs they have loved, filling the chapel walls with photographs, notes and tributes. And this time, we're going there for Sebastian and Marie Claire.
Remembering the Original Pugianos
Long before there was Pugianos Live, there was Sebastian, nicknamed the "Boog". He had been studying canine freestyle, earning his AKC Trick Dog titles and competing in Rally when we discovered something rather important: Dog training and music belong together! Rally exercises became choreography. Tricks found their way into musical phrases. Toy pianos appeared. And somehow, Pugiano was born.

KK joined him, working her boas and tutus with considerable theatrical authority and playing her little piano as fluently as Sebastian.
And then there was beautiful Marie Claire—the third of our original Pugianos, another Rally and tricks rock star whose life ended heart breakingly early when leukemia took her at only 3½ years old. She held down the Pirate number, but her daughter, Tory, (Champion Pickwick's Worship the Ground I Walk On), will be taking on her role.

On October 1, we'll carry the keyboards into Dog Chapel and perform music written for Sebastian and Marie Claire plus a short program drawing from some of these numbers: What a Wonderful World, Jesu, Joy of Mans Desiring, Menuet in G, Sky Full of Stars, You are the Sunshing of My Life, Mountain Dance, Cruella De Vil, Lean on Me, Linus and Lucy, Moon River.
Afterward, we'll place their memorial cards among the thousands already covering the chapel walls and leave a little of each of them at Dog Mountain. It seems exactly the right place. Here is Sebastian's card, complete with an image of his last painting he did before he lost his front leg to cancer.

And then? The road show begins! We'll travel through Vermont performing a shortened version of Pugianos Live with just a couple of pugs for this tour. Here is the itinerary in case you can catch up with us! Buttercup will be holding court at her Kissing Booth -- because the world can never have enough pug kisses. 💋🐾
Programs will vary according to our destination but we'll be playing some of your favorites like: Route 66, Blue Moon, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Moon River, Mountain Dance, What a Wonderful World, Blackbird, Pure Imagination, Ice Cream, This Little Light of Mine, Under the Sea, Wellerman Sea Shanty, Simple Gifts, O Shenandoah, Beyond the Sea, Moonlight in Vermont, At the Hop, Born to be Wild, Chasing Cars and some original tunes, too. Finally we'll cross the Alabama state line and make our traditional stop at the Welcome Center where the piano comes out one last time, the custom made Alabama and Auburn tutu dresses go on, and we finish the tour with Sweet Home Alabama!
Follow along! We'll be posting photos and updates on our blog and maybe a few live feeds and videos.
