Pugianos Live Encore East Coast Tour

Pack the toy pianos, the tutus, the drum, the treats... and somehow squeeze in the actual pugs ... Pugianos Live is hitting the road!

At the end of September, a small contingent of Pickwick Pugs is piling into the car with an 88-key keyboard for a New England musical road trip. We’re heading north through Virginia, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, then looping back down through the Smoky Mountains.

Why a small contingent this time? Well, apparently hotels think two curly-tailed creatures per room is plenty. Clearly, they’ve never hosted a Pugiano.

A Special Stop at Dog MountainThis trip starts with something really close to our hearts. Our first big destination is Dog Mountain and the Dog Chapel in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Created by artist Stephen Huneck, it's a place that celebrates the incredible bond between people and their dogs. People come from all over the world to leave photos, notes, and tributes for dogs they’ve loved.

We're making this pilgrimage specifically for Sebastian and Marie Claire.

Long before Pugianos Live was a full production, there was Sebastian. "The Boog" was working on canine freestyle, AKC Trick Dog titles, and Rally when we realized dog training and music just belonged together. Moves became choreography, tricks matched musical phrases, toy pianos entered the picture, and Pugianos was born. KK joined in next with her iconic boas, tutus, and theatrical flair.

Then came beautiful Marie Claire—our third original Pugiano and another trick/Rally rockstar, whose life was cut way too short when leukemia took her at just 3½ years old.

On October 1st, we’re carrying the keyboard into Dog Chapel to play music written specifically for Sebastian and Marie Claire. We’ll leave their memorial cards among the thousands on the chapel walls and leave a little piece of them both at Dog Mountain. It feels like the exact right place to honor them.

Road Show Chaos & Coastal PiratesAfter that, the road show officially begins! We'll be running a stripped-down, mobile version of Pugianos Live—just a couple of pugs, an 88-key piano, and a heavily trimmed-down prop budget.

After St. Johnsbury, we’re making a non-negotiable stop at Ben & Jerry's (where the pugs fully expect performance fees in Doggie Desserts). Then we're heading toward Putney and Brattleboro, hoping to pop up at a drive-in theater and alongside one of Vermont's classic covered bridges.

Next stop: Rockport, Maine.

Naturally, once we hit the coast, the Pirate number goes back in the lineup. 🏴‍☠️ We're planning a seaside pop-up near a lighthouse, some beach time for the crew, and whatever random adventures pop up. October 6th is currently logged in the itinerary as VENUE: TBA, which feels slightly dangerous.

On the way back south, we’ll play in Salem, Virginia, before winding through the Smoky Mountains. (Because if you’re playing in Tennessee, you have to play “Rocky Top.”)

Finally, we’ll cross back into Alabama for our traditional welcome center finale: out comes the piano, on go the custom Alabama and Auburn tutus, and we wrap it all up with “Sweet Home Alabama.”

After that? Somebody is going to need a very long nap. Probably the human.

Follow the TourWe'll be sharing photos, short clips, and daily dispatches from the road—including everything that goes wrong, because this is Pugianos.

There will be pianos, tutus, pugs, and almost certainly a few unscripted moments.
